Mabuhay Deseret Foundation
Mabuhay Deseret Foundation was founded in 1988. The name of the foundation was inspired from the word "deseret" which came from the ancient word for honeybee and represents the philosophy of the foundation. At Mabuhay Deseret, Filipino doctors volunteer their time, local hospitals provide substantial discounts on the use of their facilities and patients and their family members contribute by cooking and cleaning during their stay in our Hospice Houses. Each year the foundation performs over 3000 free operations to correct medical condtions such as cataracts, crossed eyes, cleft lip and palette, burn contractions, post polio and club fee for the poor.
By working together with members of the community, the Foundation is able to perform dramatic, life-changing surgery for thousands of Filipinos every year.
